1. Inspect rack teeth and pinion teeth for wear.
2. Inspect rack for distortion.
3. Inspect ball and needle bearings for seizure, uneven rotation and excessive play.
4. Inspect bellows for cracks and deformation.
5. Inspect gear housing for rust.
