1. Disconnect field coil wire from "M" terminal.
2. Connect a 12 volt battery between terminals S and M. This test must be performed quickly (in less than ten seconds) to prevent coil from burning.
3. If pinion moves out, then pull-in coil is good.
4. If pinion does not move out, replace magnetic switch.
