DEALER SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS

Safety Recall # 701-- Fuel Tank

^ This service requirement applies only to 1995 and 1996 model year Eagle Talon TSi All Wheel Drive (FJ) vehicles.

^ The fuel tank on the above listed vehicles, may leak fuel from the fuel pump or gauge unit gaskets. To correct this condition, the fuel tank, fuel pump gasket and retaining cap, and gauge unit gasket and retaining cap must be replaced.

^ Since the gaskets are submerged in fuel when the tank is full, the fuel tank must be completely filled with premium fuel and the vehicle must be driven for approximately 10 miles, to leak test and verify proper gasket installation. The cost of the additional fuel should be added to the recall claim.

Parts Packages:

^ Each involved dealer, to whom vehicles in the recall were invoiced, will receive enough Fuel Tank Packages to service about 25% of those vehicles.
