System Operation and Code Output
These diagnostic trouble codes are output if there is abnormal resistance between the input terminals of the front passenger's air bag module (squib).

Probable Cause
- Malfunction of harnesses or connectors
- Malfunction of front passenger's air bag module (squib)
- Malfunction of SRS-ECU

Trouble Causes of Each Code
Code No. 24
- Short in front passenger's air bag module (squib) or harness short
Code No. 25
- Open circuit in front passenger's air bag module (squib) or open harness
- Malfunction of connector contact
Code No. 64
- The harness wire of the front passenger's air bag module (squib) is grounded to the power supply.
Code No. 65
- The harness wire of the front passenger's air bag module (squib) is grounded.

Testing - Corrective Action


Caution: Turn the ignition key to the "LOCK" position, disconnect the negative battery cable and tape the terminal. Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the battery cable before doing any further work. (Refer to Service Precautions)
