NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE SEP. 12, 1994 (MDH 09-12-XX).
SYMPTOMS:
Squeak or creak coming from the upper front strut area when turning and/or braking. Normally prevalent on left turns at low speed.
DIAGNOSIS:
Road test the vehicle. If symptom exists, inspect the outboard side of the front upper strut mounts for the presence of a white nylon locating pin. If pin is present, perform the repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves removing the temporary locating pins from the front upper strut mounts.
1. Raise the vehicle on a suitable hoist so the front suspension is fully extended.
2. Locate the white nylon locating pin (one per strut) on the outboard side of the upper strut mount.
3. Remove the pin by pulling downward with a needle nose channel lock pliers until the pin is free of the upper strut mount.
4. Repeat procedure on other side of vehicle.
5. Lower vehicle and road test to verify repair.
