Rear Road Noise Improvement
MODELS:
1993 - 1994 (LH) Concorde/Intrepid/Vision/LHS/New Yorker
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Excessive road surface to tire noise from the rear wheels. Varies with road surface.
DIAGNOSIS:
Verify that the tires are inflated to the pressure shown on the tire placard. Excessive tire pressure will aggravate road noise. Raise vehicle on a suitable hoist that will allow rear suspension to fully extend. The end of the top coil of the spring should be indexed just to the right of the upper strut mount wing as viewed from the outboard side. If spring is indexed other than this position, perform the repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves Indexing the spring to the upper strut mount.
1. Rotate spring(s) until they are properly indexed. It may be necessary to use a spring compressor to reduce the tension.
2. Verify the spring is seated in the upper strut mount.
