Technician Safety Information

Special attention should be exercised when working with spring or tension loaded fasteners and devices such as E-Clips, Circlips, Snap rings etc. as careless removal can cause personal injury.

Always wear safety goggles whenever working on vehicles or vehicle components.

Read and understand all CAUTIONS and WARNINGS, to minimize the risk of personal injury, and the possibility of damaging the vehicle.

Removal/Disconnection Of System Components

CAUTION: Certain components of the EATX are not intended to be serviced individually.

Attempting to remove or disconnect certain system components may result in personal injury and or improper system operation.

Test Driving the Electronic Automatic Transmission Complaint Vehicles

Some Electronic Automatic Transmissions complaints will require a test drive as a part of the diagnostic procedure. The purpose of the test drive is normally to duplicate a fault condition.

NOTE: Before test driving a Transmission complaint vehicle, make sure that the Transmission has completed the SHIFT LEVER TEST successfully, fluid level is correct, and the fluid is not burned. There could be a reduction in EATX performance if these conditions are not met.
