Cruise Control Indicator Lamp: Description and Operation

The CRUISE lamp is used to indicate to the operator when the vehicle speed control is engaged. The signal to illuminate the lamp is carried over the Chrysler Collusion Detection (CCD) Bus from the Body Control Module (BCM).

The BCM receives information on vehicle speed control engagement from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) over the CCD Bus. This lamp also is illuminated, for a few seconds, when the ignition switch is moved from the OFF to the RUN position as a bulb check. The bulb check operation is controlled by the PCM.
