Sunroof / Moonroof: Adjustments
NOTE: The numbered call-outs in the following service procedure refer the numbered parts found in the exploded view diagram.GLASS PANEL ALIGNMENT
The sunroof glass panel should be aligned parallel to the sides of the roof opening, with slight weatherstrip compression around its periphery. A 0.13 mm (0.003 in.) thick paper card can be used as a gauge to measure the fit around the roof opening to the glass panel. All glass panel edges should be 0.5 mm above, to 1.5 mm below, the roof surface.
ADJUSTING GLASS PANEL CLEARANCE TO ROOF OPENING - FRONT-TO-BACK AND SIDE-TO-SIDE
1. Open sunroof to the vent position.
2. Remove left and right trough link covers (8).
3. Disengage left and right glass panel springs (57) from glass guide brackets (19) and rest them on inside of trough guide links.
4. Loosen front and rear nuts (21) holding glass panel to guide bracket (19). Do not remove the nuts.
5. Close sunroof glass panel.
6. Shift the glass panel on guide bracket to achieve proper alignment. If necessary, use a body filler spreader as a wedge between roof opening and glass panel.
7. Tighten rear nuts (21). Torque 3 Nm (30 in. lbs.)
8. Open sunroof to a partial vent position to access front nuts (21), and tighten nuts. Torque 3 Nm (30 in. lbs.)
9. Engage glass panel springs to glass guide brackets.
10. Close the glass panel. Verify fit and operation.
11. Install trough guide link covers.
ADJUSTING GLASS PANEL VERTICAL HEIGHT
NOTE: Adjust one corner at a time.
1. Close the sunroof glass panel.
2. Remove left and right trough guide link covers.
3. For adjusting front flushness of glass panel to roof opening, loosen screws (59) holding glass panel guide bracket to front guide pivot plate (3). Do not remove screws. Raise or lower glass panel to achieve proper height: all glass panel edges 0.5 mm above, to 1.5 mm below, the roof surface, and tighten screws (59). Torque to 3 Nm (30 in. lbs.)
4. For adjustment of rear flushness of glass panel to roof opening, loosen rear screw (21) holding glass panel guide bracket to glass panel guide. DO NOT remove screws. Then, raise or lower glass panel to achieve proper height: all glass panel edges 0.5 mm above, to 1.5 mm below, the roof surface, and tighten screw. Torque: 3 Nm (30 in. lbs.)
5. Close glass panel. Verify fit and operation.
6. Install left and right trough guide link covers.
