102H Changing Rear Release to Single Button Depression

NOTE: Perform TEST 102A Before Proceeding.

NOTE: Anytime the RKE module is put in programming mode, all transmitters that will be used on that vehicle must be programmed.

1. Turn the ignition on (engine off) and ensure the vehicle is in park position.
2. Ground the RKE module program enable wire to put the module in programming mode:

1995 Vehicles
- This wire will be the DG wire in the traction control switch connector cavity 4. If the vehicle does not have traction control, the wire will still be in the same location (behind the middle vent bezel).

- The door locks will cycle to inform that the module is in programming mode.
If the locks do not cycle, check the RKE program enable wire for continuity from the RKE module to the connector. If the wire is OK, replace the RKE module.

1996-1997 Vehicles
- Using the DRB, select "PROGRAM RKE" under "MISCELLANEOUS".

- The door locks will cycle to inform that the module is in programming mode.
If the locks do not cycle, check the RKE program enable wire for continuity from the RKE module to the data link connection If the wire is OK, replace the RKE module.

3. Press any button on the transmitter. The locks will cycle as feedback.
4. Press any button on the other transmitter. The locks will cycle again as feedback.
5. Press the unlock button six times. The horn will sound two chirps as feedback of single button release.
6. Remove the ground wire or exit out of programming mode on the DRB.
