102G Canceling RKE Horn Chirp

NOTE: Perform TEST 102A 102A Remote Keyless Entry Before Proceeding

NOTE: Anytime the RKE module is put in programming mode, all transmitters that will be used on that vehicle must be programmed.

1. Turn the ignition on (engine off) and ensure the vehicle is in park position.
2. Ground the RKE module program enable wire to put the module in programming mode:

1993 - 1995 Vehicles
- This wire will be the DG wire in the traction control switch connector cavity #4. If the vehicle does not have traction control, the wire will still be in the same location (behind the middle vent bezel).

- The door locks will cycle to inform that the module is in programming mode. If the locks do not cycle, test the RKE program enable wire for continuity from the RKE module to the connector. If the wire is OK, replace the RKE module.

1996-1997 Vehicles
- Using the DRB (scan tool), select "PROGRAM RKE" under "MISCELLANEOUS".

- The door locks will cycle to inform that the module is in programming mode.
If the locks do not cycle, test the RKE program enable wire for continuity from the RKE module to the data link connector. If the wire is OK, replace the RKE module.

3. Press any button on the transmitten The locks will cycle as feedback.
4. Press any button on the other transmitter. The locks will cycle again as feedback.
5. Press the lock button and the unlock button, then repeat two more times (for a total of three cycles of lock and unlock). The locks will cycle three times and the trunk will unlock.
6. Remove the ground wire or exit out of programming mode on the DRB.
7. To reinstate horn chirp, reprogram all transmitters.
