Air Injection Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove the pulsed secondary air injection solenoid.
2. Connect a hand vacuum pump to the pulsed secondary air injection solenoid nipple.
3. Use a jumper wire to connect the solenoid valve terminal to the battery terminal.





4. Turn on and off the negative battery terminal side jumper wire and apply 67 kPa (19.7 in.Hg) of vacuum to check airtightness and ventilation between (A) and (B).

5. Measure the resistance between the terminals of the solenoid

Standard value: 33 - 39 ohms [at 20° C (68° F)]
