NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO MAY 1, 1995, (MDH 05-01-XX) EQUIPPED WITH A 2.0L DOHC NON-TURBO ENGINE.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Engine miss at idle and/or under load. This condition may occur on vehicles with less than 5,000 miles. The "Check Engine Light" may be illuminated and Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) "CYLINDER # 1 OR # 2 OR # 3 OR # 4 MISFIRE" or "MULTIPLE CYLINDER MISFIRE" may be present.
DIAGNOSIS:
Remove affected cylinder spark plug(s) and inspect for "carbon tracking" on spark plug insulator and inside spark plug wire boot. The tracking would appear as one or more black lines running down the side of the spark plug ceramic insulator and/or a gray/white track down the inside of the spark plug boot on the ignition wire. If tracking is evident, proceed to the repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves replacing all four spark plugs and cables.
** Remove and install four spark plugs, P/N 4671057 for PL models or P/N 5269556 for FJ models, and spark plug cable set, P/N 4773841, as outlined in the appropriate Service Manual. **
