Interior Quarter Trim Panel - Stress Marks

Stress Mark - Interior Rear Lower Quarter Trim

MODELS:

1995 (FJ) Talon

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Small stress marks on the quarter trim panel at the trim clip locations.

PARTS REQUIRED:

AR MR708039 Quarter Trim Panel - LH (Gray)
AR MR708042 Quarter Trim Panel - RH (Gray)

AR MR708041 Quarter Trim Panel - LH (Brown)
AR MR708044 Quarter Trim Panel - RH (Brown)

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves using a heat gun or lamp to relieve the stress marks.

1. Using a suitable heat gun or heat lamp, warm the area around the stress mark.
Use a continuous circular motion keeping the heat source at least 3 - 5 mm from the surface. Heat the surface for 3 to 5 seconds at a time until the stress mark disappears (a small shiny spot may be visible after heating).

2. Remove the heat source and let the surface cool for several minutes.

3. Verify that the stress mark is gone. If the stress mark is still present, repeat steps 1 and 2.

4. If the stress mark cannot be removed using this procedure, replace the trim panel using the appropriate P/N panel listed in the parts section.
