Diagnostic Notes (Read Before Proceding)
Diagnostic test procedures are split into different categories:- Trouble Code Test (TC)
- No Trouble Code Tests (NTC)
- Charging System Tests (CH)
- Speed Control Tests (SC)
- No Start Tests (NS)
- Verification Tests (VER)
It is not necessary to perform every category for every performance related problem. Selection of what category to use will be determined by the nature of the performance problem. Always begin at Test 1 of each category. Starting at any test other than Test 1 may result in incorrect diagnosis.
Each test may have many steps, however, only perform the steps as indicated according to test procedure. Before proceeding to the next test, ensure all wires and hoses are reconnected, engine is turned OFF and any removed components are reinstalled. Always perform the verification test after vehicle repairs have been made.
On all models, ensure test vehicle has a fully charged battery. When performing a cold test, ensure engine has not been started for at least seven hours. When performing a warm test, ensure engine is at normal operating temperature.
