Barometric Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation
Barometric Pressure Sensor Circuit:
Purpose
The Barometric Pressure Sensor measures atmospheric pressure and converts the measurement into a voltage signal which is sent to the ECU.
The ECU uses the voltage signal to adjust the air-fuel ratio and ignition timing for the altitude at which the vehicle is running, thus improving driveability at high altitude.
Location
The barometric pressure sensor is located in the Air Flow Sensor (AFS).
