Coil Resistance Test

Primary Coil Resistance
1. Measurement of the primary coil resistance.
Disconnect the four wire coil connector and measure the resistance between the positive terminal and negative terminals of the ignition coils.
Standard value: 0.70 - 0.86 ohms
Secondary Coil Resistance
2. Measurement of the secondary coil resistance.
Measure the resistance between the ignition coil's high-voltage terminals.
Standard value: 11.3k - 15.3k ohms

- If coil resistances are not both within specifications replace coil.
- If coil resistances are within specifications check power transistor.
