Throttle Cable/Linkage: Service and Repair






Removal
1. Adjusting bolt
2. Throttle body side inner cable
3. Bushing
4. Accelerator arm side inner cable






5. Pull the left side of the accelerator pedal toward you, and then remove the accelerator pedal from the accelerator arm.
6. Spring
7. Accelerator switch connector
8. Accelerator arm bracket
9. Split pin
10. Accelerator arm
11. Return spring
12. Accelerator switch

13. Accelerator arm stopper
14. Bolt


Note: Split pin--Part # 9--should not be reused












Inspection
- Check the inner and outer cable for damage.
- Check the cable for smooth movement.
- Check the accelerator arm for bending.
- Check the return spring for deterioration.
- Check the connection of bushing to end metal fitting.
- Check the accelerator switch for ON/OFF switching.


Installation
1. Bolt

2. Accelerator arm stopper
3. Accelerator switch


Note: Apply multipurpose grease around the each moving point of the accelerator arm--MOPAR Multi-mileage Lubricant Part No. 2525035 or equivalent.

4. Return spring
5. Accelerator arm
6. Split pin

Note: Apply the specified sealant--3M ATD Part No.8663 or equivalent--to the bolt mounting hole, and then tighten the accelerator arm bracket.

8. Accelerator switch connector

Accelerator pedal

Notes:
(1) Securely install the resin bushing of the accelerator cable on the end of the accelerator arm.
(2) Apply multipurpose grease--MOPAR Multi-mileage Lubricant Part No.2525035 or equivalent--around the cable end.
