Throttle Body Replacement
Throttle Body And Attachments:
Removal
1. Remove the air intake hose.
2. Remove the accelerator cable.
3. Remove the cruise control cable if equipped.
Throttle Body Stay:
4. Remove the throttle body stay.
5. Remove the four bolts securing the throttle body to the intake air plenum and remove the throttle body.
Note: Be sure to install the throttle body gasket as shown. Incorrect installation may result in poor idle quality.
Installation
1. Install a new gasket.
2. Install the throttle body and torque the bolts, in a cross-pattern.
Torque value:
11 - 16 ft lb (15 - 22 N-m)
Throttle Body Attachment Bolts:
Note: Bolts #1 and #2 are not the same length, ensure that the bolt installed in #1 is .31 x 1.18 in. (8 x 30 mm) and the bolt in #2 is .31 x 2.16 in. (8 x 30 mm).
3. Install the throttle body stay, torque the bolts.
Torque value:
7 - 9 ft lb (10 - 13 N-m)
4. Reconnect the throttle cable (and cruise control cable, if equipped).
5. Reconnect the intake air duct.
6. For the initial adjustment of the throttle position sensor and the idle speed screw, refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES.
