Cruise Control Servo Cable: Adjustments

1. Confirm there are no sharp bends in accelerator cables.
2. Check inner cables for correct slack.
3. If slack is incorrect, adjust as follows:
a. Remove actuator protector.
b. On models equipped with SOHC engines, turn ignition switch to the On position and leave in this position for approximately 15 seconds.

Fig. 1 Accelerator Cable B Adjustment:

c. On all models, loosen adjusting bolts, then adjust accelerator cable B, to achieve freeplay of 0.04-0.08 inch. If there is too much slack in the cable, the vehicle speed drop will be great when climbing a slope. If there is no slack in the cable, idle speed will increase.
4. After adjusting accelerator cable B, ensure the throttle lever touches the idle switch.

5. Adjust accelerator cable A: by loosening the locknut. Correct freeplay should measure 0.0-0.4 inch for manual transaxles and 0.08-0.12 inch for automatic transaxles.

6. After making cable adjustments, ensure the throttle lever at the engine side is caused to move 0.04-0.08 inch when the actuator link is turned, as shown.
7. Install actuator protector, then ensure throttle valve opens and closes fully by use of the accelerator pedal.
