D. Install Driver Seat Assembly

1. Temporarily connect the side shield/switch to the seat assembly.

2. Place the seat adjuster assembly into the vehicle and connect the wiring harness. Check the operation of the seat adjuster by cycling it forward and back, and up and down.

NOTE:
Leave the adjuster in the full up and full forward position.

^ If a flex cable comes off of the recliner motor or gear box, bend the flex cable and push the free end back in.

NOTE:
The motor can be taken off of the motor bracket to ease flex cable installation.

^ If a flex cable comes off of the horizontal motor or gear box, each side must be repositioned before reconnecting the flex cable. Ensure that only one side is connected to the gear box and then operate the motor until one side is all the way forward. Disconnect that side and connect the other side and then operate the motor again until the other side is also all the way forward. Now reconnect all horizontal flex cables.

3. Disconnect the seat adjuster wiring harness and remove the seat adjuster from the vehicle.

4. Disconnect the side shield/switch assembly.

5. Cover the seat cushion and then place the seat cushion upside-down on the bench.

6. Install the seat adjuster assembly on the seat cushion (Figure 3).

NOTE:
Make sure that the wiring harness for the side shield switch is routed between the seat cushion and the seat adjuster assembly.

7. Install the wiring harness push-in fasteners into the seat cushion holes.

8. Tighten the four (4) seat adjuster attaching bolts to 115 in-lbs(13Nm).

9. Turn the seat cushion/adjuster assembly over.

10. Place the seat back into position with the lower legs outboard of the pivot bracket (Figure 2).

11. Install the two (2) pivot bracket bolts (Figure 2). Tighten the bolts to 267 in-lbs (30 Nm)

12. Turn the recliner lead screws to the full out (rear) position, and then adjust the lead screw in if necessary until the hole in the paddle area aligns with the hole in the seat back frame. DO NOT adjust the lead screw more than 1/2 turn.

13. Install the two (2) recliner bolts (Figure 2). Tighten the bolts to 115 in-lbs (13 Nm).

14. Connect the side shield switch wiring connector.

15. Install the side shield. Tighten the screws to 9 in-lbs (1 Nm).

16. Install the seat belt buckle assembly. Tighten the seat belt bolt to 35 ft-lbs (47 Nm).

17. Install the driver seat assembly into the vehicle.

18. Connect the body wiring harness to the seat wiring harness (Figure 1).

19. Adjust the seat to the full rear position.

20. Install the.two (2) front seat attaching bolts. Tighten the bolts to 50 ft-lbs (68 Nm).

21. Adjust the seat to the full forward position.

22. Install the two (2) rear seat attaching bolts (Figure 1). Tighten the bolts to 50 fl-lbs (68 Nm).
