B. Relpace the Recliner Pivot Brackets

1. Turn the recliner lead screws all the way in to the collar stop; then temporarily tie strap the lead screws out of the way of the pivot brackets (Figure 4).

2. Cover the drive motors, wiring harness and drive screws with a protective sheet or shop towel.

3. Using a die grinder with a 3" abrasive cut-off wheel, carefully remove the outboard head of the forward rivet on the left recliner pivot bracket (Figure 5).

4. Position the seat adjuster assembly on its side and place a 16mm deep well socket under the forward recliner bracket rivet to support the adjuster (Figure 6).

5. Using a punch and hammer, drive the rivet out of the seat adjuster frame.

CAUTION:
Do not damage the upper support and lead screw when removing the recliner rivet.

6. Remove the retaining ring from the pivot pin and then remove the pivot pin (Figure 5). Drive the pin out with a punch and hammer, if necessary.

7. Remove and discard the left pivot bracket.

8. Install the supplied left pivot bracket. Align the front hole in the bracket with the front hole on the adjuster assembly.

9. Insert the provided bolt through the front hole in the pivot bracket. Install the provided nut on the inboard side of the adjuster. Finger-tighten the nut only so that the pivot bracket can swing freely.

10. Swing the bracket into place to align the pivot pin holes and then insert the new pivot pin from the inside of the track outward.

11. With a 3/8" socket, push the supplied retaining ring over the pivot pin until it engages into the pin groove.

12. Tighten the pivot bracket nut and bolt to 95 in-lbs (11 Nm).

13. Repeat Steps 1 - 12 to replace the right pivot bracket.

14. Remove the tie straps that were installed to temporarily secure the recliner lead screws (Figure 4).
