DISCUSSION:
1993, and early 1994, vehicles were built with two sizes of head restraints depending on trim code. Both sizes meet all Federal Safety Standards. All 1994 vehicles, built after 7/25/93 (MDH 07-25-XX), are equipped with the larger restraints as well as taller head restraint poles.
In the event an owner of a 1993, or early 1994, vehicle equipped with the smaller/shorter head restraints requests larger/taller restraints, the 1994 head restraints can be used with the exception of trim code E7. The larger head restraints for trim code E7 are being made available as follows:
PN KM86MB7 Blue
PN KM86MDD Quartz
PN KM86MF7 Driftwood
NOTE:
WHEN REPLACING THE SMALLER HEAD RESTRAINTS WITH THE LARGER RESTRAINTS, THEY MUST BE REPLACED IN PAIRS.
POLICY:
Upon request, dealer should replace head restraints at no charge to customer.
