NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 3.5L ENGINE BUILT PRIOR TO FEBRUARY 1, 1994 (MDH 02-01-XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
A/C belt rolls over in the pulleys. Replacing the belt does not permanently correct the condition.
PARTS REQUIRED:
1 4663950 A/C Belt
1 4663534 A/C Idler Pulley
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves replacing the A/C belt and idler pulley with revised parts.
1. Remove the generator/power steering pump drive belt to gain access to the air conditioning drive belt.
2. Loosen the tensioner pulley lock nut and turn the adjusting screw to release the belt tension.
3. Replace pulley and belt with revised parts. Adjust belt tension by turning adjusting screw. Torque pulley nut to 54 N-m (40 ft.lbs.) after adjustment.
