Headlamps - Condensation Visible Inside

NO.: 08-38-93

GROUP: Electrical

DATE: Aug. 27, 1993

SUBJECT:
Moisture In Headlamp

MODELS:

1993-1994 (LH) Concorde/Intrepid/LHS/New Yorker/Vision

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Condensation in vented headlamp optical units is a normal condition. The amount of condensation is dependant upon humidity and temperature levels. This moisture will quickly dry out provided the ventilation tube is positioned properly and free of obstruction.

On Concorde/Intrepid/Vision, the headlamp ventilation tubes can be "hung up" on the front fascia. When this occurs, the open end of the vent tube is pointing forward in a gap between the headlamp and fascia providing an open channel for water to be sprayed into the headlamp optical unit.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This repair involves correcting the headlamp vent tube position.

Reposition the headlamp vent tube so it is pointing straight down behind the fascia as indicated.

NOTE:
ALL COMPONENTS OF THE HEADLAMP MODULE ARE SERVICED SEPARATELY. IF ONE COMPONENT REQUIRES SERVICE, DO NOT REPLACE THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY.

POLICY:
Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
