DISCUSSION:
A condition exists on vehicles equipped with manual A/C that could cause customer concern. The A/C control programming will cause the A/C compressed light to come on during engine start, even though the A/C compressor/light was not on when the engine was shut off. This condition will occur with the A/C system in any outside air mode.
Owners experiencing this condition should be advised that this is normal operation and that depressing the A/C button will turn the compressor/light off.
This condition does not affect vehicles equipped with Automatic Temperature Control (ATC).
