Road Testing A Complaint Vehicle

Some antilock brake system complaints will require a test drive as part of a diagnostic test or repair verification procedure. The purpose of the test drive is to try and duplicate the diagnostic trouble code and/or symptom condition.

NOTE: The DRB must not be connected during the road test; the antilock function is disabled while in diagnostics.

CAUTION: Never assume that full ABS braking will be available when performing a road test for a repair or verification of a customer complaint. Before road testing the vehicle, be sure that all components are reassembled. During the test drive, do not try to read the DRB screen while in motion. The DRB has an alarm that beeps when a trouble code is set
