A. Move Door Trim Panel Aside & Remove Door Check Strap

CAUTION:
Do not pry on door trim panel, damage to trim panel will result.





A1. Remove bolts holding check strap to door end frame (Figure 1).

A2. Remove retainer holding check strap to door hinge pin (Figure 1).

A3. Disengage check strap from pin on door hinge.





A4. Raise door glass to full up position. Using a door handle removal tool, disengage clip holding window crank to regulator and remove crank from door, if equipped (Figure 2).





A5. Front Doors Only: Disengage clips holding front door speaker grille to trim panel and remove grille. Remove screws holding trim panel to door from inside speaker opening (Figure 3).

A6. Remove screw holding pull cup to trim panel and remove pull cup (Figure 3).

A7. Remove screw holding trim panel to door from behind inside latch release handle (Figure 3).

A8. Remove two upper outboard screws (and lower rear screw on rear doors) holding trim panel to door.





A9. Lift trim panel upward to disengage channel retainer at top of trim and all hook retainers at bottom of trim panel (Figure 4).





A10. Tilt trim panel outward to disengage clip holding linkage rod to inside latch release handle and separate rod from handle (Figure 5).

Note:
It is not necessary to remove trim panel or disconnect any wiring behind trim panel.

A11. While holding trim panel away from door, reach in door access hole and remove and discard old check strap (Figure 1). Temporarily hang trim panel onto door channel retainer (Figure 4).
