CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION -- Door Check Straps

Dear Chrysler Corporation Vehicle Owner:

Because the satisfaction of our customers is very important to Chrysler, we would like to explain a condition that some owners of 1993 model Chrysler Concorde, Dodge Intrepid or Eagle Vision vehicles have experienced. If you experience the same condition on your car, the corrective service and replacement parts will be provided to you free of charge. if you hear a "snapping" noise and/or feel increased effort when opening or closing any of your car's four doors, it is likely caused by deformation of the door check strap bushing. This condition is most likely to occur in cold temperatures.

We don't want to inconvenience you, so there's no need to do anything if all of the doors on your vehicle operate properly. Unless you are experiencing the condition, there is no benefit from the corrective service which does involve disassembly of the interior door trim panels.

If you are currently experiencing the noise or effort condition, or notice it in the future, you should arrange for the free service. To do this:

^ Contact your dealer to schedule a service appointment.

^ Take the enclosed Owner Notification Form with you at the time of your appointment and give it to your dealer. The form identifies the vehicle and the service that is required.

To correct the condition, your dealer will install four revised door check straps, even if only one door has the condition. This will prevent any possible need to return for the service later for another door. The work will take about one and a half hours to complete. However, additional time may be required depending on how dealer appointments are scheduled and processed. If the service is not required at this time, we recommend keeping this letter and the enclosed form with your glove compartment owner's information just in case you notice the condition in the future.

If you have any problem obtaining the needed service, please contact the Chrysler Zone Service Office in your area. (It is listed under "Service Assistance" in your Owner's Manual.) A Zone representative will arrange for prompt servicing of your vehicle.

Thank you for your understanding and we regret any inconvenience that this action may cause you.
