REMOVAL

Remove intake manifold in numbered sequence, referring to Fig. 10 on 1.8L/4-107 engines and Fig. 11 on 2.0L/4-122 engines, noting the following:
1. Drain coolant as follows:
a. Place instrument panel temperature control lever in Hot position.
b. Carefully remove radiator cap.
c. Remove radiator drain plug.
2. On 1.8L/4-107 engines, when removing upper radiator hose, mark hose clamp in relation to hose for assembly reference.
3. On all models, before disconnecting high pressure fuel line, relieve fuel pressure as outlined in ``Fuel Pressure Release'' found in Maintenance Procedures.
4. Remove delivery pipe, fuel injector and regulator as an assembly.

INSPECTION

Inspect intake manifold and air intake plenum (if equipped) as follows:
1. Check for damage, cracks or defects.
2. Ensure coolant and jet air passages are clear.
3. Check installation surfaces with a straightedge. Replace if deflection exceeds .012 inch.

INSTALLATION


Reverse removal procedure to install. On 2.0L/4-122 engines, when installing throttle body, refer to bolt length chart, Fig. 12.
