Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

Catalytic Converter Location:

REMOVAL

1. Remove clamp holding intermediate pipe to converter.
2. Remove intermediate pipe from converter (it may be necessary to heat the intermediate pipe).
3. Remove bolts securing converter flange to header pipe.

INSTALLATION

1. Install new converter flange gasket.
2. Install converter and reinstall flange bolts.
3. Install intermediate pipe onto converter with new clamp.
4. Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks


NOTE: Replace any missing or damaged heat shields.
