Fuel Pressure Control Valve

NOTE: Before the vacuum hoses are removed, make an identifing mark on them to ensure proper routing when being reconnected.

1. Remove the blue striped vacuum hose and the black vacuum hoses from the solenoid valve.
2. Disconnect the electrical harness connector.

Testing The Control Valve For Air Tightness:






3. Plug the blue striped vacuum hose nipple with a finger or a cap. Using a hand vacuum pump, apply vacuum to the black vacuum hose nipple.
Vacuum should NOT leak.

4. Unplug the blue striped vacuum hose nipple and apply vacuum.
Vacuum should LEAK.

Testing With Vacuum And Voltage:






5. Apply battery voltage to the solenoid terminals, using lead wires with aligator clips.

6. Without plugging the blue striped vacuum hose nipple, apply vacuum to the black vacuum hose nipple.
Vacuum should NOT leak.






7. Using an ohmmeter, check the solenoid coils resistance.
Refer to SPECIFICATIONS/ELECTRICAL.

8. If the solenoid tests results deviate, replace the solenoid valve.
