Clicking And/Or Crunching Noise From Rear Springs
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves inspecting the right rear spring and if necessary replace.
MODELS:
2013 (PF) Dart
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles with (sales codes ZTS or ZSW) Spring - Right Rear built after April 22, 2012 (MDH0422XX) and before June 23, 2012 (MDH0623XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Clicking and/or crunching noise from rear springs.
DIAGNOSIS:
If a customers VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other customers that describe the symptom/condition, perform the Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Raise the vehicle on a suitable hoist. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT > TechCONNECT under: Service Info > 04-Vehicle Quick Reference > Hoisting > Standard Procedure> Hoisting.
2. Inspect the right rear coil spring. Did it appear unseated as shown in (Fig. 1)?
a. Yes >>> Remove and replace the right rear coil spring. Refer to the detailed removal and installation procedures available in DealerCONNECT > TechCONNECT under:
Service Info > 17-Rear Suspension > Shock absorber, suspension, coilover > removal/installation.
b. No >>> Return the vehicle to the customer or dealer inventory.
