THIS SERVICE BULLETIN IS ALSO BEING RELEASED AS RAPID RESPONSE
TRANSMITTAL (RRT) 12-054. ALL APPLICABLE SOLD AND UN-SOLD RRT VIN's
HAVE BEEN LOADED. TO VERIFY THAT THIS RRT SERVICE ACTION IS
APPLICABLE TO THE VEHICLE, USE VIP OR PERFORM A VIN SEARCH IN
TECHCONNECT. ALL REPAIRS ARE REIMBURSABLE WITHIN THE PROVISIONS OF

SUBJECT:
Incorrect Interior Seat Covers And/Or Headrests
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves inspecting and if necessary replacing the front and/or rear seat backs, seat cushions and/or headrests.
MODELS:
2013 (PF) Dart
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles with sales codes (-X9) Black or (-XA)
Black/Diesel Gray built before August 11, 2012 (MDH0811XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The vehicle has been shipped with the incorrect interior seat covers and/or headrests.
DIAGNOSIS:
If a customers VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other customers that describe the symptom/condition, perform the Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Inspect the front and rear seat backs, seat cushions and headrests (Fig. 1). Were they the correct color and/or style?
a. Yes >>> Return the vehicle to the customer or dealer inventory.
b. No >>> Proceed to Step # 2.
NOTE:
Vehicles equipped with any color other than black denim trim code (DX9) should have the headrest with the deck seam (Fig. 1) (1) installed. If the vehicle is equipped with black denim trim code (DX9) it should have the headrest with the join seam (Fig. 1) (2) installed.
2. Are the seat cushion covers incorrect?
a. Yes >>> Refer to the detailed removal and installation procedures available in: DealerConnect > TechCONNECT under: Service Info > 23-Body > Seats, front > Cover, Seat Cushion > Removal/Installation.
b. No >>> Proceed to Step # 3.
NOTE:
Removal of the seat cushion is unnecessary, only the seat cushion cover needs to be removed and replaced.
3. Are the seat back covers incorrect?
a. Yes >>> Refer to the detailed assembly and disassembly procedures available in: DealerConnect > TechCONNECT under: Service Info > 23-Body > Seats, front > SEAT BACK, Front> DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY.
b. No -> Proceed to Step # 4.
4. Are the headrests incorrect?
a. Yes >>> Refer to the detailed removal and installation procedures available in: DealerConnect > TechCONNECT under: Service Info > 23-Body > Seats, front > HEADREST > Removal/Installation.
b. No >>> Return the vehicle to the customer or dealer inventory.
