Tail Stop Turn Lamp Bulb - Removal
BULB
An outer rear lamp for this vehicle is secured at the rear of each quarter panel and includes multiple Light-Emitting Diode (LED) units for the park (or tail) lamps, the brake (or stop) lamps and the turn signal lamps. A center rear lamp is secured on the lower deck lid and also includes multiple LED units for the park (or tail) lamps as well as two incandescent bulbs for the backup (or reverse) lamps. The LED units are service only as a unit with their respective outer or center lamp assemblies. The backup lamp bulbs are serviced individually.
NOTE: The center rear lamp unit contains two bulbs. One socket near each outboard end of this lamp contains a backup lamp bulb. The service procedures for each bulb are the same.
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Open the deck lid (1) to access and remove the plastic push-in fastener (2) that secures the lamp cover (3) over the backup lamp bulb socket.
3. Remove the lamp cover from the inner deck lid trim.
4. From the inside of the deck lid (3), firmly grasp the appropriate bulb socket (2) on the back of the lamp (1) housing and rotate it counterclockwise about 30 degrees to unlock it.
5. Pull the socket and bulb straight out of the lamp.
6. Pull the base of the bulb straight out of the socket.
