Tail Stop Turn Lamp - Removal






LAMP

An outer rear lamp for this vehicle is secured at the rear of each quarter panel and includes multiple Light-Emitting Diode (LED) units for the park (or tail) lamps, the brake (or stop) lamps and the turn signal lamps. A center rear lamp is secured on the lower deck lid and also includes multiple LED units for the park (or tail) lamps as well as two incandescent bulbs for the backup (or reverse) lamps. The outer and center rear lamp units are serviced individually.

OUTER





1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. From inside the trunk, peel away the close out cover (2) from the inboard end of the outer tail lamp unit (1) and discard. The close out cover is not intended for reuse.





3. Peel back the trunk trim from over the inside of the tail lamp seat (2).
4. Disconnect the body wire harness connector (3) from the tail lamp connector receptacle.
5. Remove the three nuts (1) that secure the tail lamp to the inside of the tail lamp seat (2).





6. From the outside of the vehicle, pull the tail lamp unit (2) straight out of the tail lamp seat (1) in the end of the quarter panel.

CENTER





1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the trim cover from the inside of the deck lid (3).
3. Disconnect the body wire harness connector (4) from the center tail lamp (1) connector receptacle.
4. Remove the eight nuts (2) that secure the center tail lamp to the inside of the deck lid inner panel.





5. From the outside of the vehicle, grasp each end of the center tail lamp (1) firmly and pull straight rearward to disengage the two ball studs (2) from the two grommets (4) in the deck lid inner panel.
6. Remove the center tail lamp unit from the deck lid opening.
