Tail Stop Turn Lamp - Installation
LAMP
An outer rear lamp for this vehicle is secured at the rear of each quarter panel and includes multiple Light-Emitting Diode (LED) units for the park (or tail) lamps, the brake (or stop) lamps and the turn signal lamps. A center rear lamp is secured on the lower deck lid and also includes multiple LED units for the park (or tail) lamps as well as two incandescent bulbs for the backup (or reverse) lamps. The outer and center rear lamp units are serviced individually.
OUTER
1. Position the tail lamp unit (2) into the tail lamp seat (1) in the end of the quarter panel.
2. From inside the trunk, install and tighten the three nuts (1) that secure the tail lamp to the inside of the tail lamp seat (2). Tighten the nuts securely.
3. Reconnect the body wire harness connector (3) to the tail lamp connector receptacle.
4. Restore the trunk trim over the inside of the tail lamp seat.
5. Clean the surfaces to which the new close out cover (2) must be bonded with a clean, soft cloth soaked with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol or naptha, then wipe dry.
6. Position the new close out cover to the body and over the inboard side of the outer tail lamp (1). Use hand pressure to secure the integral clips of the cover.
7. Peel the release paper off the adhesive patch on the close out cover, then use hand pressure and a resilient roller to wet out the adhesive.
8. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
CENTER
1. From outside of the vehicle, check to be certain the two grommets (4) are properly installed and in good condition in the deck lid (5) inner panel.
2. Position the center tail lamp unit (1) into the deck lid opening using the alignment pin (2) and two ball studs (3) as guides.
3. Using hand pressure, press firmly and evenly on the two outboard ends of the center tail lamp to snap the two ball studs into the two grommets in the deck lid inner panel.
4. From the inside the trunk, install and tighten the eight nuts (2) that secure the center tail lamp (1) to the inside of the deck lid (3) inner panel. Tighten the nuts securely.
5. Reconnect the body wire harness connector (4) to the center tail lamp connector receptacle.
6. Reinstall the trim cover onto the inside of the deck lid.
7. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
