Decklid Spoiler Rattle And/Or Chatter Sound
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves road testing and if necessary removing the spoiler, applying lock and seal adhesive, and reinstalling.
MODELS:
2011-2012 (LD) Charger
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built prior to October 31, 2011 (MDH 1031XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Decklid spoiler rattle and/or chatter sound.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer describes the symptom, perform the Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
1. Road test vehicle 5 miles over rough roads.
2. Was a rattle and/or chatter sound exhibited from the rear of the vehicle?
a. Yes >>> Proceed to Step # 3.
b. No >>> Continue further diagnosis, this bulletin does not apply.
3. Remove decklid spoiler. Refer to the detailed procedures available in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT > under: Service Info > 23-Body > Decklid/Hatch/Liftgate/Tailgate > SPOILER, Decklid > Removal.
4. Apply a 10 mm (7/16") length of lock and seal adhesive to each deck spoiler stud as shown in (Fig 1).
5. Install decklid spoiler while the lock and seal adhesive is still wet. Refer to the detailed procedures available in DealerConnect> TechCONNECT > under: Service Info > 23-Body > Decklid/Hatch/Liftgate/Tailgate > SPOILER, Decklid > Installation.
NOTE:
Torque each nut to 6 N.m (4.4 ft.lbs.).
