Heated/Cooled Cupholder - Description
HEATED/COOLED CUPHOLDER
The heated and cooled cupholder assembly (1) is located in the center console, when equipped. The two heated and cooled cupholders (2) can heat the container placed within them to 60° C (140° F) or cool the container to near 1.6° C (35° F). Each heated and cooled cupholder has a Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) ceramic element attached to an aluminum cylinder, that forms the side of the cupholder. A circuit board (5) with a heat sink controls the unit's function, and the wiring connector (4) connects it to a lead of the center console wire harness. The integral ventilation duct (6) helps dissipate the heat from within the cupholder assembly. The each cupholder is controlled through a switch (3 and 7). The Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) in each switch, illuminate blue to indicate when the cupholder is set to cool, or red when set to heat.
