B1830-13

B1830-13-ALL DOORS UNLOCK CONTROL - CIRCUIT OPEN

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

Theory of Operation

After receiving the appropriate requests over the communication network, the Body Control Module (BCM) controls an internal relay to provide voltage to all the door lock motors on the door unlock driver circuit. The return path is provided through the door lock driver circuit. For additional information on Power Locks operation, Power Locks - Operation.

- When Monitored:
Continuously

- Set Condition:
When the Body Control Module senses an open condition on the (P910) Driver Door Unlock Driver circuit or (P292) Passenger Doors Unlock Driver circuit for more than one second.

1. INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, clear all DTCs.
3. Lock and unlock the doors.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display DTC: B1830-13-ALL DOORS UNLOCK CONTROL - CIRCUIT OPEN?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

2. CHECK THE (P910) DRIVER DOOR UNLOCK DRIVER CIRCUIT AND (P292) PASSENGER DOORS UNLOCK DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

NOTE: This DTC is set when all the door lock motors are inoperative. Check for an open between the BCM and splices.

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the BCM F harness connector.
3. Measure the resistance of the (P910) Driver Door Unlock Driver circuit between the BCM F harness connector and the Driver Door Lock motor.
4. Measure the resistance of the (P292) Passenger Doors Unlock Driver circuit between the BCM F harness connector and one of the passenger door lock motors.

Are the resistances below 5.0 Ohms?

Yes

- Replace the Body Control Module (BCM). Body Control Module - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Repair the open in the (P910) Driver Door Unlock Driver circuit or (P292) Passenger Doors Unlock Driver circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
