Instrument Panel Pad - Installation
TOP PAD
1. Position the instrument panel top pad (1) over the instrument panel reinforcement. Do not install or engage the retaining clips at this time.
2. Connect the passenger air bag squib connectors (1).
NOTE: Before installing, make sure the two airbag bracket studs are aligned with the two bosses located on the underside of the top pad
3. Seat the three retaining clips above the glove box, the two clips above the cluster and the one clip at the driver side HVAC outlet fully.
4. Seat the top pad fully and insert the passenger air bag mounting studs through the holes in the instrument panel support.
5. Install the nine upper trim panel screws.
6. Install the screws (1) under the center bezel.

8. Install the two screws (1) under each of the end caps.
9. Install left and right end caps. Instrument Panel End Cap - Installation
10. From the glove box opening, install the two nuts securing the passenger air bag to the instrument panel and tighten to 9.5 Nm (84 in. lbs.).
WARNING: Do not reconnect the battery without first performing the Airbag System Test procedure Component Tests and General Diagnostics . Failure to perform the Airbag System Test may result in accidental airbag deployment and serious or fatal injury.
11. Install the ground connection and install the nut (2) to the A-pillar on the passenger side.
12. Connect the electrical connector (1).

14. Install the instrument panel defroster grille. Defroster Grille - Installation
