Output Shaft, 1st to 4th - Disassembly
DISASSEMBLY
NOTE: The retaining bolt has left hand threads.
1. Remove the retaining bolt (2) for the case side tapered roller bearing (3)
.
2. Using Remover L-4406 (3) and Collets L-4406-2 remove the case side tapered roller bearing from the output shaft.
3. Remove forth gear (1) and blocker ring (2) from output shaft (4).
4. Remove forth gear needle bearing (1) from the output shaft.
5. Using snap wring pliers (2) remove the snap ring (1) at the 3rd/4th gear synchronizer (3).
6. Remove 3rd/4th gear synchronizer (1) along with third gear (2) from output shaft (3).
7. Remove third gear needle bearing (1) from the output shaft (2).
8. Remove the second gear locking ring assembly (1, 2) from out put shaft (3).
9. Remove second gear (1) from output shaft (2).
10. Remove second gear needle bearing (1) from the output shaft (2).
11. Remove the second gear blocker ring (2) from the output shaft (1).
12. Using Snap Ring Pliers (1) remove the second gear synchronizer snap ring (1).
13. Remove the first/second gear synchronizer (1) from the output shaft (2).
14. Remove the first gear blocker ring (1) from the output shaft (2).
15. Remove first gear (1) from the output shaft (2).
16. Remove the first gear needle bearing (2) from the output shaft (1).
17. Using Remover 5048-6, 5048-1 (2), Collets 6545 and Plug 8140-2 remove the bellhousing side taper roller bearing from the output shaft (3).
