TIMING BELT (WITH HYDRAULIC TENSIONER)1. Remove front timing belt cover (Fig. 165).
CAUTION: Align camshaft and crankshaft timing marks before removing the timing belt by rotating the engine with the crankshaft.
2. Rotate crankshaft until timing marks are aligned at both the camshaft and crankshaft (Fig. 166).
3. Loosen the timing belt tensioner fasteners (Fig. 166).
CAUTION: DO NOT loosen, tighten, or remove the tensioner pivot bolt (Fig. 167).
4. Remove the timing belt from sprockets.
CAUTION: Do not rotate the camshaft once the timing belt has been removed or damage to valve components may occur.
