Trunk / Liftgate Striker: Service and Repair

DECKLID LATCH RELEASE CABLE AND LATCH STRIKER

REMOVAL

1. Remove left front sill plate.
2. Remove left rear sill plate.
3. Remove left lower B-pillar trim as necessary to gain access to release cable.
4. Disconnect retainers attaching carpet to door opening sills.

5. Remove screws attaching decklid release handle to floor pan (Fig. 67).
6. Route handle and cable into rear seat area.
7. Remove rear seat cushion and back.
8. Remove lower quartet trim panel.
9. Route handle and cable into trunk.
10. Remove trunk lining away from left quarter panel.
11. Remove trunk opening sill plate.
12. Remove bolts attaching decklid latch striker to rear closure panel.
13. Remove decklid latch release cable from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

1. Install decklid latch release cable into vehicle.
2. Install bolts attaching decklid latch striker to rear closure panel.
3. Install trunk opening sill plate.
4. Install trunk lining to left quarter panel.
5. Route handle and cable into vehicle.
6. Install lower quartet trim panel.
7. Install rear seat cushion and back.
8. Install screws attaching decklid release handle to floor pan.
9. Install left lower B-pillar trim as necessary
10. Install left rear sill plate.
11. Install left front sill plate.
