Rear Door Glass Will Not Roll Down All The Way
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves removing the rear door trim panel and tie strapping the window regulator conduit cable to the door inner panel to prevent the side glass from getting caught when rolled down.
MODELS:
2000 (PL) Neon
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Rear door window won't roll all the way down, or the window binds up inside the door before reaching the down position.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the rear door glass will not roll all the way down or binds up inside the door before reaching the down position perform the Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
1 04641780 Tie Strap
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
THIS REPAIR IS COMPATIBLE WITH DAIMLERCHRYSLER'S MOBILE SERVICE PROGRAM AND DOES NOT REQUIRE HOISTS OR OTHER FULL SERVICE FACILITY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT.
1. Remove the rear door trim panel and partial watershield to access the conduit clip using the procedure in the 2000 Neon Service Manual (publication No. 81-270-0025) 23-40.
2. Roll the rear door side window to the full up position.
3. Remove the conduit clip from the regulator conduit and discard (Figure 1).
4. Route plastic tie strap through conduit attaching hole, around conduit and back through access hole to securely fasten conduit to door inner panel (Figures 2 & 3).
5. Trim excess tie strap.
6. Roll the window all the way down and all the way up to verify interference and binding have been eliminated.
7. Install door watershield and trim panel.
