Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement

NOTE: The power steering pump must be removed from the vehicle for power steering pump pulley and front mounting bracket service.

CAUTION: Do not hammer on power steering pump pulley or shaft to remove power steering pump pulley. This will damage the pulley and the power steering pump.

Pulley Removal From Power Steering Pump Shaft:





1. Mount the power steering pump in a vise using the power steering pump mounting bracket. Install Puller, Special Tool C-4333 or C-4068 on power the steering pump pulley. Remove the power steering pump pulley from the power steering pump shaft.

NOTE: Replace the power steering pump pulley if bent, cracked, or loose.

2. To install the pump pulley, place the power steering pump pulley squarely on end of the power steering pump shaft. Mount Installer, Special Tool C-4063 in the internal threads of the power steering pump shaft and against power steering pump pulley.

3. Ensuring that the special tool and pulley remain aligned with pump shaft, turn the nut and force the pulley onto the power steering pump shaft until it is flush with the end of the shaft. Once the pulley is flush with the end of the shaft, the tool will no longer be able to turn.
4. Remove the installer from the power steering pump.
5. Install power steering pump back on engine.
