Timing Cover: Service and Repair

The content of this article reflects changes called for in TSB 26-09-98.

REMOVAL

1. Remove accessory drive belts.

Right Inner Splash Shield:

2. Raise vehicle on a hoist and remove right inner splash shield.
3. Remove crankshaft vibration damper.
4. Lower vehicle and place a jack under engine.
5. Remove right engine mount.
6. Remove generator and bracket. Service and Repair

Right Engine Mount Bracket:

7. Remove right engine mount bracket.

Timing Belt Cover:

8. Remove front timing belt cover.

INSTALLATION

1. Install front timing cover.
2. Install engine mount bracket.
3. Install generator mounting bracket. Tighten mounting bolts to 61 Nm (45 ft.lbs.).
4. Install generator. Service and Repair
5. Install Right engine mount.
6. Remove jack from under engine.
7. Install crankshaft vibration damper.
8. Install accessory drive belts.
9. Raise vehicle on hoist and install right inner splash shield.
