Clutch Assembly Replacement
1. Remove transaxle, refer to TRANSAXLE.2. Mark position of clutch cover to flywheel for reference during installation.
3. Diagonally loosen clutch cover retaining bolts, loosen bolts one or two turns at a time, to avoid bending cover flange.
4. Apply MOPAR Multi-mileage Lubricant (part No. 2525035) or equivalent to parts as follows:
a. Apply a thin coating of lubricant to release arm fulcrum and point of contact with release bearing.
b. To end of the release cylinders, pushrod and to pushrod hole in release fork.
c. Pack inner surface of clutch release bearing and groove. Do not leave excess lubricant on bearing which may be thrown onto clutch disc, causing clutch disc contamination and/or slippage.
d. Apply a thin coating of lubricant to clutch disc inner splines.
5. Using a universal clutch disc alignment tool, position clutch disc to flywheel.
6. Install clutch cover assembly. Tighten bolts a little at a time, working in a diagonal sequence. Torque bolts to 11-15 ft. lbs.
