Fig. 7 Shock Absorber And Coil Spring Assembly. FWD:

1. Remove shock absorber assembly, refer to SHOCK ABSORBER.
2. Remove coil spring as shown, noting the following:
a. Using tool No. C-4838 or equivalent, compress spring, then remove piston rod attaching nut.
3. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Using tool No. L-4514 or equivalent, compress spring, install on shock absorber assembly, align coil spring in spring seat.
b. Install new piston rod attaching nut, then tighten to specifications.
