EMISSIONS RECALL TO CORRECT YOUR VEHICLE'S VACUUM HOSEROUTING LABEL
Dear Dodge Stealth Owner:
Chrysler Corporation has determined that an incorrect vacuum hose routing label was installed on 1996 Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo vehicles equipped with a 3.0L turbocharged engine and 6-speed manual transmission. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and State of California regulations require that a vacuum hose routing diagram be provided in the engine compartment of all vehicles.
The problem is...
The vacuum hose routing label on your Stealth (identified on the enclosed form), shows two of the hoses to the EGR vacuum solenoid valve reversed. If the hoses were installed as shown, the EGR valve would be open at all times. This could cause driveability, idle and potential emission concerns.
Whet you must do...
^ We ask that you apply the enclosed label so that it covers the original incorrect vacuum hose routing label, as described on the reverse side of this letter.
^ If preferred, you may contact your dealer to schedule a service appointment for installation of the label. The service will be provided free of charge and should only take a few minutes to complete. However, additional time may be required depending on how dealer appointments are scheduled and processed.
^ If you prefer dealer installation of the label, please remember to bring the enclosed label and Owner Notification Form with you to your dealer. The form explains the required service to the dealer.
